ANNUAL GRANTS
Each Fall, MFEE awards up to $60,000 in grants to Montclair Public School educators. These grants purchase innovative classroom tools and other resources that boost learning in classrooms. These ideas come directly from staff and administrators, and they are reviewed by central office department heads. Read more about the most-recent grant awards on our blog.
NEW: MFEE is piloting a new type of educator grant for the 2025-26 school year called IdeaLab. These grants aim to fuel impact in Montclair classrooms by fostering teacher creativity through a specific lens. This year’s focus is “Civics in our Schools.” Learn more.
EDUCATIONAL
EXCELLENCE GRANTS

Educational Excellence Grants are awarded to Montclair Public School faculty for innovative and sustainable projects that will have a direct impact in the classroom. Proposals should be sustainable, collaborative (when possible), and enhance district curricula.
SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL LEARNING GRANTS

Social and Emotional Learning Grants are awarded to Montclair Public School faculty for projects that enhance students' social and emotional competencies, including their ability to manage emotions, develop positive relationships, and show empathy for others.
GREENWALD PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS

GPD Grants are awarded to MPS faculty for unique PD that strengthens their skills to improve student achievement. It represents a new idea that may not have been tried at all or in this way, and/or addresses a specific, compelling need. It clearly articulates the potential to impact student learning in a significant way.
