The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence is thrilled to announce that Sarah Hudson-Plush is joining MFEE this January as Deputy Director, overseeing day-to-day operations and working closely with the Executive Director to drive strategic growth.

Having served on the MFEE Board of Trustees for seven years, Hudson-Plush is deeply familiar with MFEE’s work to nurture teachers and promote equity and classroom innovation across the Montclair Public Schools. She has served as chair of MFEE Grants Committee for five years, overseeing annual educator grants, as well as MFEE’s Excellence in Equity Grants program which concluded last year. She was key to launching the new “IdeaLab” grant focusing this year on civics in education.

Hudson-Plush has also been deeply involved in MFEE and the wider Montclair community – representing MFEE at various community events, working in the kitchen at MFEE’s annual Sabor Montclair event, or even teaching piano lessons to students enrolled in MFEE’s bilingual tutoring and academic support programs.

“Sarah not only understands MFEE’s role and mission, but she is also a passionate advocate for equity in education and is deeply committed to our work,” said MFEE Executive Director Masiel Rodriquez-Vars. “A strategic thinker with a proven talent for moving complex projects from vision to execution, Sarah brings the insight and drive that further strengthens MFEE’s dynamic team as we deepen our impact in the community.”

An attorney with experience in non-profit administration and management, Hudson-Plush most recently served as associate director of GHS Philanthropy Management. She also worked as a public school teacher in Newark, NJ, through Teach for America. She graduated from Cardozo School of Law and the University of Michigan, is a certified teacher in New Jersey, and is a parent to three Montclair Public Schools students.
