Sabor Montclair celebrates the unique “sabor” that our Latinx community members bring to Montclair. Our familias have helped design this event which features tasty take-out meals that highlight their culture and family stories. Your ticket for dinner includes a tasting platter for one, but most importantly, it is a donation to support all of MFEE’s programming and to help fund Navegadores Escolares, Entrenadores Escolares, and Oruguitas.

In just two years, MFEE’s Navegadores Escolares program has expanded to support 80+ families and over 115 Montclair Public School students – and it continues to grow quickly! Until now, families and students have been navigating our schools and community on their own. In systems that operate almost exclusively in English, non-English-speaking parents in Montclair face many barriers to meaningfully engaging and supporting their children. Students face barriers to accessing the education and fundamental resources to which they are entitled.

While the district is intent on addressing the needs of our rapidly growing population of multilingual learners, institutional change takes time, and our children need support now.

When: Saturday, October 28th 5-8pm

Where: Pick up your delicious meal in the back of the Unitarian Church. No parking or leaving your car required!
