MFEE Welcomes Two Board Members

Two Montclair residents who are passionate about public education have been elected to the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence’s Board of Directors.
The new board members, Jen Carr Brown and Michelle Glennon, each bring unique perspectives and professional experience that will help MFEE continue its mission to fund innovation and create equitable access to high-quality public education for all Montclair students.
“We are thrilled these two talented leaders have joined our Board,” said Masiel Rodriquez-Vars, MFEE’s executive director. “Their experience, energy, and connection to our schools will strengthen our work to the benefit of Montclair students and teachers.”
With nearly a decade of involvement with MFEE, Carr Brown has a longstanding commitment to supporting Montclair schools and enriching students’ educational experiences. A Montclair parent of three, she is passionate about creating opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop their talents, and thrive.
Jen is the founder and principal designer of Carr Brown Designs, a Montclair-based interior design studio. Prior to launching her design career, she spent more than a decade in the sports and entertainment industry at an international agency, managing athletes and celebrities. She holds a B.A. in Communication from Stanford University, where she competed in Track & Field, and an M.S. in Sports Administration from Georgia State University.
“MFEE has long been a pillar of Montclair’s education community, something that was evident to us when we moved here more than a decade ago. I’m excited to deepen my commitment to an organization that has such a meaningful impact on our schools,” Carr Brown said. “I look forward to bringing my perspective as a parent, entrepreneur and creative professional to the board, and helping continue MFEE’s legacy of enriching educational opportunities for all Montclair students.”
Glennon has served as an MFEE grant liaison for the past five years. She has worked in global content sales at A+E Global Media for 13 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Boston College. A former math tutor and lifelong math lover, Glennon brings an enthusiasm for numbers (and an unhealthy love of Microsoft Excel) to her new role.
A proud mother of three, Glennon has one child at Hillside Elementary School, one at Nishuane Elementary School, and a third who will join Nishuane next year. She is honored to take on a larger role with MFEE and help make a positive impact on Montclair’s teachers and students. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, and cheering on her husband, a former MFEE Amazing FundRacer champion.
For 35 years, MFEE has served as an independent, non-profit education fund supporting the public schools in Montclair. The organization has grown significantly in the past decade, piloting programming for students, teachers, and families, as well as responding to systemic challenges, broadening grant-making efforts, and deepening community ties.
