About the event
Through our Arts Open Hearts program, this spring MFEE has once again partnered with Lifelong Montclair and Jessica Buel, an award-winning Montclair High School English and journalism teacher, for a semester-long storytelling project with teens and senior citizens.
The Montclair seniors and journalism students have been working together as part of a unique storytelling experience built around conversation, connection, and writing. This intergenerational cohort of 20 learners – 10 students and 10 seniors – has met several times throughout the semester, interviewing each other and writing stories about each other’s lives.
Please join us for the culminating event – a story slam where the students and seniors will share these stories aloud on stage.
Thank you to The Montclair Foundation for welcoming us to the Van Vleck House for this event.
Location and parking:
The event will be in the main building, which is ADA accessible. The parking lot will be reserved for the participating seniors and their guests. There is plenty of street parking available.
