Some funders will only accept
grant applications from nonprofit
organizations. In those cases, you
can apply under the auspices of MFEE. Send us your completed Grant Proposal Intent Form to get the process started.

GRANT PROGRAMS
MFEE was founded with the belief that the best ideas for how to improve our schools often come from those inside them: teachers, principals, guidance counselors, librarians, and other participants in each school’s daily life. MFEE grant programs help these ideas come to life, expanding educational opportunities for our students.
MFEE operates four grant programs:
- Educational Excellence Grants
- Greenwald Professional Development Grants
- Turner Social and Emotional Learning Grants
- Magnet Enhancement Grants
Educational Excellence Grants
Educational Excellence Grants are awarded to Montclair Public School faculty for innovative projects that will have a direct impact in the classroom. Applications are accepted once a year, in October, and awards range from $90 to $1,000. The average grant size is approximately $700.
Greenwald Professional Development Grants
Greenwald Professional Development Grants are awarded to Montclair Public School faculty for activities that will enhance their skills and extend their knowledge. Applications are accepted twice a year, in March and October, and awards range from $75 to $600. These grants are awarded in memory of beloved educator Marcia Greenwald.
Turner Social and Emotional Learning Grants
Turner Social and Emotional Learning Grants are awarded to Montclair Public School faculty for projects that enhance student safety and well-being in the schools. Applications are accepted twice a year, in March and October, and awards range from $175 to $3,200. These grants are funded by The Turner Family Foundation.
Magnet Enhancement Grants
Magnet Enhancement Grants are awarded to each school for projects that benefit the entire school. Applications must be submitted by the schools’ principals and are due in October of each year. Grant awards are usually $10,000 per school.
